If you could have #ONEDISHONLY, Carrie recommends the Pad Thai Noodle Salad from Korean bistro-slash-bakery, Paris Baguette.

Oh, wait a minute, Paris Baguette isn’t from France?

No siree, babygirls. This chain bakery hails from the land of Kimchi and SNSD. The only thing remotely French about it could be the techniques used in creating those extremely fragrant and hunger-inducing baked goods they’ve got displayed alluringly behind that glass display case.

Famous for their sinfully creamy, Royal Pudding (Original! Chocolate! Strawberry!), Mango Latte and other tantalising sweet treats, Paris Baguette has taken South Korea, China, US and now Singapore by storm with 3,500 outlets and growing as we speak.

But today we’ll steer clear of Paris Baguette’s sweet treats to take look at a personal favourite of mine, the Pad Thai Noodle Salad ($8.50).

More Noodle Salad than Pad Thai, this Pad Thai Noodle Salad is loosely based on the Pad Thai, focusing more on the ingredients typically found in the Thai stir-fried noodle dish. You’ll find smatterings of peanuts, flat rice noodles, shredded chicken, prawns and plenty of lettuce and chopped peppers.

Like I said, very loosely based on Pad Thai. I guess the “Thai” part of this salad was probably in the Thai chilli sauce dressing that it comes with.

However, even though it’s nothing at all like one of my all-time favourite noodle dishes from Thailand (and Thai Express), this is still extremely tasty and appetising and time and again, I’ve visited Paris Baguette and grabbed this from the salad counter. Well, it is freaking delicious, especially when I squeeze a bit of zesty lime into the salad (Limes are included).

The Pad Thai Noodle Salad is also packed in a really wonderful plastic box with a small little separate box of the Thai chilli sauce dressing secured to it. It’s just so easy to takeaway if I decide I need a “healthy” bite. I’m sure this is probably not all that healthy, but better than say a Laksa lunch craving.

You’ll find Paris Baguette outlets at JEM®, Tampines Mall, Wisma Atria and Changi Airport (Terminal 2).
