We spend a lot of effort taking care of our exterior image but there’s a saying “You are what you eat.” You should also pay equal attention to the food that you are eating. I’m an advocate in eating clean but I can’t deny the fact that it is difficult to eat clean due to the hectic lifestyle in Singapore. We tend to go for convenience and grab food on the go. During the weekends, we would give ourselves a treat and indulge in alcohol or good food. At the end of the week, we would have consumed a lot of food that have been processed or laden with preservatives or monosodium glutamate (MSG).

I would usually do a detox once or twice a month because of its benefits. It helps to remove toxic chemicals such as preservatives, artificial colouring, pesticides, herbicides from the colon and other body cells. It improves digestion by tuning up the intestinal system.

We have all heard of the fad detox diets like MasterCleanse or Juice cleanse but have you heard about the latest detox that’s taken the Social Media world by storm? It’s Teatox. I’ve seen it everywhere on Blogs and Instagram. Being a curious health fanatic, I wanted to find out the hype was about and gave a resounding “YES!” when Your Tea approached me if I would like to try their range. Afterall, it seems manageable compared to the other diets that strictly prohibits food for 3 days (I cannot live a day without food!) When you do your teatox, you can continue your lifestyle and exercise routine.

Tiny Tea

When I opened the box up, there are 42 individually packaged teabags in one of my favourite shades – Fuchsia!

It is really fuss free. All I need to do is to just open a packet and steep the teabag in boiling water for a few minutes and it is ready to drink.

Your Tea

Based on Chinese medicinal principles, Your Tea Gluten-Free Tiny Teatox is formulated with Chinese medicine herbs such as oolong tea, jue ming zi, he ye, shan zha, lai fu zi and chen pi.

The Gluten-Free Teatox is said to nourish and cleanse your digestive system by providing it the support it needs to replenish and restore back to its natural state. This Teatox cleanse also promises benefits of reducing weight, easing bloating, increasing digestion functionality, improving skin clarity, increasing energy levels and alleviate issues associated with food intolerance’s. However, we have to keep our expectations realistic as it is not a miracle tea. I’ve been drinking it for the past few days and felt that it helps with the bloating and digestive functions for me. Carrie has also tried it and she too have also experienced an significant reduction in bloating.

Tiny Tea Tox

During my first sip, I felt that the herbal taste was a little strong for me but I eventually got used to the taste. You are supposed to drink it 3 times a day 30 minutes before your meal or after your meal for 14 days. It is not an issue for me because I love my piping cup of hot tea probably because for a Singaporean Chinese, we love to drink our piping hot cup of tea at chinese restaurants and also to wash away the grease after an oily meal.

What I liked most about Tiny Tea Tox is that it is the only herbal cleanse on the market that does not produce a laxative effect. I’ve tried other detox or slimming teas before and I remember times when I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet. With Tiny Tea Tox, I did not experience any painful tummy ache and sprints to the toilet.

The Gluten Free Tiny Tea Tox (14 Day) is retailing at $35 online. Have you tried a Teatox before and did you see any results? Share with us by leaving a comment!
