During the Mother’s Day weekend, I popped by with my mother to Joyce Lim Skin and Laser Clinic at Paragon Medical Suites to attend their Pigments Away workshop with Benefit Cosmetics. I’ve been visiting Dr Joyce Lim for Lumenis LightSheer Duet (you can read more here at our post – Going Hairless with Lumenis LightSheer Duet) and it’s my third session so far. She’s a renowned dermatologist with more than 20 years of experience so you can really trust her. I’ve first heard of her while cruising around forums like flowerpod and cozycot for good skin doctors. This time, I was curious to find out more about Lumenis latest technology which is the M22 Optical Pulse Technology.

We were all seated down in the comfy sofas at her clinic while Dr Joyce Lim explains to us more about this technology and how it can be used to treat pigmentation, freckles, melasma, dark spots and age spots. The M22 OPT can also help to stimulate the production of collagen for supple skin.

We then proceeded to the room to see a live demonstration of M22 Optical Light Technology by Dr Joyce Lim. Say hello to my mum and I with our cool glasses to protect our eyes from the bright flashes.

Dr Joyce Lim zapping away on her patient. She puts on a thick layer of cooling gel first and each hit of laser should only feel like a rubber band snapping at your face. M22 OPT is also empowered with the Sapphire Cool Technology which cools the skin and makes it more comfortable.

Each light pulse the machine produces is able to penetrate skin tissues and create controlled destruction to the imperfections. However, it leaves the surrounding healthy skin and vessels unaffected.

One side is done and you can see a difference and lightening of the pigments on the skin, in just a few light pulses! Amazing, don’t you think?

Once you have a great skin as a canvas, you can then enhance it with makeup! The next portion of the workshop is by Benefit Cosmetics and their makeup artiste shared with us tips on how to prep your face with skincare followed by primer and then looking flawless with their skincare. I thought it was the perfect timing as I was lingering around Sephora previously and wanted to try out some of their products. I was eyeing at their makeup set which comes in mini sizes of many of their bestsellers in a kit.

I’m looking for a nice highlighter and am tempted to buy High Beam. Has anyone tried High Beam? Share with me your reviews! Carrie has tried the cheekstain Benetint which is kiss-proof, see-through color for lips & cheeks that lasts for hours. I know another reasons why Carrie like it so much. It smells of rose too so it’s definitely listed under her Bandung Beauty List.

Carrie and Mayie gave me Dandelion, brightening face powder as a birthday gift last year and I’m still using it. There’s sugarbomb for the sugar rush flush, CORAlista for a tropical flush and bellabambi which is a 3D brightening pink face powder. Can I say I want all of them pronto? I know I’m not the only one reacting like this.

She also gave really good tips on how to apply your foundation by brushing it downwards (I’ve been doing it wrong!) and how to conceal your eyebags which is a really good tip that I’ve been using now. I need to get the fake-up hydrating crease-control concealor too! This hydrating crease-control concealer contains Vitamin E & apple seed extract. It hides dark circles and diffuses fine lines for a silky smooth, ultra-natural look.

You can get flawless, dewy looking skin with Benefit. Benetint was applied on her lips and cheeks and they’re real! mascara on her eyelashes. This is a really good look for work, even for a casual date with your date or girly hangout at the cafe.

My mum decided she needs a touch up on her eye bags and she’s sold by the results. She even signed up for a fake-up workshop by Benefit on her own and roped her friend in too.

Can you see the difference? It is concealed on the left side.

You can find Benefit Cosmetics on their facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/BenefitCosmeticsSingapore) or their counters at TANGS Orchard, Robinsons Raffles City and Sephora ION & Ngee Ann City.

I’m glad to see familiar faces like Nadia, Jacelyn and Juli at the event. A balanced mix of floral and monochrome in this photo.

Ending off this post with Nadia’s cute chicks nails! I thought they were Pikachu at first glance.
