I chanced upon the Keratinology range last month at Watsons while doing my random poking around after work. I really didn’t think much of it at first and was contemplating between buying my usual go-to Ichikami Hair Mask or my other favourite Shiseido Tsubaki Damage Care Hair Mask.

Rachie is a fan of Sunsilk, but I’m not. I never found it really something to shout about and it may have worked for her… But it wasn’t a great product for me. I almost gave Keratinology a miss because it’s by Sunsilk. But after much consideration, I decided to give it a shot.
I grabbed the Keratinology Advanced Reconstruction Program Hair Spa Mask from the shelf and I’m glad I did.
Keratinology promises salon-perfect hair without the costly need of popping into a salon and shelling out a great deal of moolah on a treatment. It boasts better penetration into three layers of your hair fibre due to the Pico technology. Each particle is 1,000 times smaller than Nanotechnology.
I personally don’t believe in that sort of claim and while I think this is a fantastic product, it sure has hell isn’t all that! Not exactly salon-perfect, but one of the better DIY hair masks I’ve used so far.
It’s affordable
Putting aside the exaggerated marketing and tagline, the Keratinology Advanced Reconstruction Hair Mask is really worth every penny. At $21.90, it comes in a huge tub. Because it’s so concentrated, you only need a small amount to do the job. So this makes it extremely affordable.
It’s deeply hydrating and effective
I’ve been using this daily after shampoo and conditioning (not with the Keratinology range though) and I’ve seen great improvement in my hair texture, thanks to how deeply hydrating the product is. The recommended usage is once a week and you only need to apply it for five minutes before wash off. (Plus points for efficiency!)
My hair is lighter, more voluminous and manageable. I still get frizz due to the terrible state of my damaged tresses, but it’s under control. The difference is immediate and upon my first wash I could feel that my hair was softer and smoother.
It smells great

Smell wise, like most Sunsilk products, it’s delicious and a bit fruity.

Anyway this is my hair now! So much more manageable and smoother to the touch as compared to after my dye job a couple of months back.

If you girls decided to buy it or have been using this product already, let me know if it worked for you!
